LICIT
UK artists Licit originated from London. He aims for a style of Techno that mixes the hypnotic and trippy with the upfront and funky. I like tracks that are deep and intense but that still have a groove. He is influenced by a range of styles from Jeff Mills and Luke Slater to Setaoc Mass and Rene Wise but always looking to the future development of sounds. His releases on SUB_tl, Hxagrm, Rhod and Undertone had support from a range of UK, US and EU Techno players including Roll Dann, Vinicius Honorio and Lindsey Herbert.
In his studio, he starts with live jams on a small mix of hardware synths and modular. The love of modular for sound design comes partly from his work running Eurorack design and manufacture company Abstract Data. Licit´s mission as a producer is to create tunes that find a balance between Techno as functional dance floor moment and Techno as futurist statement.
